Windows 11 was released on October 4th, 2021 one day earlier than anticipated. While it was just released, there is already an end of service date for this release, which also goes by 21H2.

This OS build, 22000.194, has a date of 10/10/2023 for the Home, Pro, Pro Education and Pro for Workstations versions. The Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise versions has an end of service date of 10/08/2024. This is all spelled out on the Windows 11 current version and release information page.

As it stands, you may still be unavailable to upgrade to Windows 11 even if your hardware supports it. You’ll know when it’s time when you visit Windows Updates and find the following:
